Join Red Hill Birding’s Josh Engel and five local birders including Lake/Cook’s Rena and Sonny Cohen for a look at their adventures in Namibia and Botswana – complete with an aerial raptor battle, 5-foot-tall bustards, a hunt for the elusive Dune Lark, hundreds of Southern Carmine Bee-Eaters nesting in a bank on the Okavango River, zebras and elephants up close and personal, a hungry hippo joining the group for dinner, and much more.

Josh’s bird photos and expertise (it was his 10th trip to the area) will be accompanied by Sonny’s often-amusing images and videos of the environment including the lodgings, roadside basket weavers, spectacles like an estimated 250,000 Cape Cormorants that flew by the group in 90 minutes, and the often-desolate view from the van during a trip that covered some 1,500 miles, more than 300 bird species and 40+ kinds of mammals.
