Migratory Bird Treaty: 100 Years of Bird Conservation @ Heller Nature Center | Highland Park | Illinois | United States

2016 marks the centennial of the Migratory Bird Treaty between the U.S. and Great Britain (for Canada). That treaty, and three others that followed, form the cornerstones of efforts to conserve birds that migrate across international borders. Rachael Pierce, a migratory bird biologist for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, will discuss events that led to the signing of the Treaty, how the Treaty has helped protect birds over the past 100 years, and the challenges of bird conservation today.
