Note: OPTIONAL 6 PM BIRD WALK before the program. Meet in the Heller parking lot. Bring binoculars! After the program, we will also listen and look for American Woodcock doing their mating display right outside the Heller building.
With everyone’s favorite songbirds about to pass through the Chicago area on the way to their breeding grounds, Morton Arboretum ornithology instructor Denis Kania will offer tips and tricks for identifying these spring beauties by field marks as well as foraging practices and habitat preferences. He’ll also discuss the migration phenomenon, from the distance these birds travel to the sequence in which they arrive.
