It’s a banner year for winter finches, including Red Crossbills and Common Redpolls, which have been showing up regularly at Van Patten in the last 10 days.
Registration required.

Maximum of 8 participants with masks over mouth AND nose (required) and social distancing. Lake Cook Audubon members only. Priority given to members who have not participated in a field trip this fall.
Directions:
Preserve is located on north side of Rte. 173 just east of Hwy. 41. Turn into the preserve, take the first road on the right to the parking lot.
