PEENT!

American Woodcocks are on territory and doing their remarkable aerial display to impress potential mates!

We’ll start at 4:30PM at Independence Grove (Lake County Forest Preserve) for waterfowl and landbirding, then grab dinner at Panera Bread in Lake Bluff. Finally, we’ll gather at 7 pm at Lake Bluff Open Lands’ Skokie Valley Reserve on Route 176/Rockland Rd. next to Mariana Landscape. Where we expect to hear and see the spectacle of American Woodcocks doing their spring mating thing shortly after dusk. (If you only want to witness the Woodcock display, join us at 7PM.)
