Third Lake is a great winter waterfowl spot, and it’s also directly adjacent to Rollins Savanna so it’s easy to check out both locations in one outing. We originally scheduled this trip for late November but got snowed out, so we’ve rescheduled. Let’s hope for better weather!
Wear boots, dress warm, and bring scopes if you have them. Optional coffee and breakfast afterward.
Directions: From Route 45, turn west on Washington Avenue. Turn right (north) on Linden Avenue just before you reach the Rollins Savanna entrance. (This is a small service road.) Drive to the bus circle and park – we’ll meet there. Third Lake is a short walk through a path that begins directly across from the bus circle. The path may be snowy.
