Identifying birds by plumage and voice is important, but you also need to know where, when and how to search for both resident and migrating species to make the most of your birding outings. In 15 years of doing big days and big years in the State of Illinois, most notably in Lake County, local birder Beau Schaefer has honed these skills to an art. In this program, Beau will share what he’s learned about finding birds by season, habitat, species type and weather to help you increase your chances of having a great day in the field.
